Krishnamachari Srikkanth, often known as Cheeka, is a former Indian cricketer and captain of the Indian cricket team. He was born on December 21, 1959, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Srikkanth was an aggressive right-handed opening batsman known for his fearless approach and ability to take on bowlers from the first ball. He was a key member of the Indian team that won the 1983 Cricket World Cup, playing a crucial role in the final against West Indies.
He served as the chairman of the Indian selection committee that selected the squad which won the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Srikkanth has also been a commentator and television personality after his playing career.
